Exploring St Peter’s Basilica

Crowds explore the inside of St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. Tripods aren’t allowed in sadly, but the floor makes for a nice flat surface for a nice perspective and long exposure.

Would be great to have access with tripod and an empty building though!

The Lights of the Opera House

Sunset on a Friday night at the Opera House in Sydney and it starts to get busy with a mixture of tourists and local office workers heading to the Opera Bar after work.

These lights go right round the Opera House – they make for a nice ‘into the distance’ shot but I wish they’d change them to something else.

Christ the King Cathedral and Vibrant Skies

So firstly this is dramatically over processed and gone beyond being a ‘photo’ – but it’s fun to do sometimes particularly when there are impressive colours in the sky around sunset.

This is Christ the King Cathedral in Reykjavik and worth a visit, particularly when there is snow on the ground.

Reach for the Sky!

Hallgr√≠mskirkja church and not and easy building to shoot – there isn’t that much open land nearby so a wide angle needed and a fair amount of lens distortion is the result.

That aside it’s an iconic building in Reykjavik and as it stands on top of a hill a great building to navigate the city by.

Sydney Skyline – From the Bridge to the Opera House

Taken from the same location as the previous shot but at night and more of a panoramic. A great spot to watch the lights of the CBD and a bit more peaceful than the other side of the Harbour.

You can see why the Australian Prime Ministers’ residence is just above this spot!
